LSNED 6th September

Today's prompt was about observing others to learn something important. I've spent today surrounded by frustrated people who wanted to get ready to do their jobs tomorrow but were prevented from doing so by the technology around us, and the misplaced trust in technology of our managers. It's been a very negative day and there weren't very many lessons to be learnt other than the 'Technology is great when it works'. So having left school I went to my son's football lesson and watched the people there. Connor had a great time and laughed and laughed which never fails to bring a smile to my face. On the way home we stopped for an icecream (in the vain hope that I could pretend it was the holidays for a few more hours) and I was watching Connor intently, waiting to learn something that I didn't already know. What I noticed is that there wasn't a joke on his lolly stick. The jokes of my childhood have been replaced by advertising. How sad!! So my lesson today is 'The lolly stick's not funny anymore'

How strange is that - I ate a Fab lolly this afternoon and thought - wow no joke on the stick - whatever happened to that?
